Spicy Beef Taco Mince
Thermomix recipe: Spicy Beef Taco Mince. Ready in 35 minutes. Serves 3. Step-by-step Thermomix instructions on Chef Amai.
Ingredients
- 15 g olive oil
- 1 medium onion, quartered
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 red bell pepper, deseeded and quartered
- 500 g lean beef mince
- 20 g tomato paste
- 30 g taco seasoning mix
- 100 g water or beef stock
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add onion, garlic, and red bell pepper to the mixing bowl. Chop 5 sec / Speed 5. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- Add olive oil. Sauté 3 min / 120°C / Speed 1.
- Add beef mince to the bowl. Cook 8 min / 120°C / Reverse / Speed 1, breaking up the mince with the spatula through the lid opening during the first minute.
- Add tomato paste, taco seasoning mix, and water or beef stock. Season with salt and pepper. Place the simmering basket on the mixing bowl lid instead of the measuring cup to prevent splatter and allow steam to escape.
- Cook 12 min / 98°C / Reverse / Speed 1.
- Pause, scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl with the spatula. Check thickness and adjust liquid if needed (add a splash more water if too dry, or cook for another 2-3 minutes if too wet).
- Continue cooking 1 min / 90°C / Reverse / Speed 1 to settle and prevent sticking.
- Serve the taco mince hot with your favourite taco shells, tortillas, or rice, and desired toppings.
