Ingredients
- 100 g onion, peeled and quartered
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
- 20 g olive oil
- 400 g canned crushed tomatoes
- 30 g tomato paste
- 200 g vegetable stock
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 450 g frozen beef meatballs
- 300 g pasta (e.g., spaghetti, penne), cooked separately according to package instructions
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Place onion and garlic into the mixing bowl. Chop 3 sec / Speed 5. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- Add 20 g olive oil. Sauté 5 min / 120°C / Speed 1. For chunky vegetables, use Reverse mode.
- Add 400 g crushed tomatoes, 30 g tomato paste, 200 g vegetable stock, 1 tsp dried oregano, ½ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp black pepper to the mixing bowl. Mix 10 sec / Speed 3.
- Cook the sauce 10 min / 98°C / Speed 2 (Reverse). Remove the measuring cup and place the simmering basket on the lid to prevent splatter and allow for some evaporation.
- Pause the machine, scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl with the spatula. Check the consistency and adjust liquid if needed. Add 450 g frozen beef meatballs to the sauce.
- Continue to cook 10-12 min / 98°C / Speed 2 (Reverse), or until meatballs are heated through and cooked. Maintain the simmering basket on the lid.
- While the sauce and meatballs are cooking, prepare your preferred pasta according to package instructions in a separate pot.
- Last 1-2 min: 90°C / Speed 1-2 (Reverse) to settle the sauce and prevent sticking.
- Serve the hearty beef meatball sauce over the cooked pasta. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
